A Few Pics of Seattle Bamboo Festival

in Bits and Pieces

Our Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Bamboo Society has two plant sales each year, which are our major sources of income.  Traditionally, the Seattle Bamboo Festival is held at the Washington Park Arboretum in June, and the Portland Bamboo Festival is held at the Hoyt Arboretum in July. Both hobbyist and professional growers sell their plants at these events, donating 30 percent of the proceeds to fund our Chapter projects and activities.  Here are a few pics I took yesterday at the Seattle Bamboo Festival held at the Donald Graham Visitor's Center. To read about bamboo plants, products and other PNWCABS goings on, you can download the latest (and previous) newsletters from the download page of the Chapter website.  You can also click on the events link to view upcoming Chapter activities.

I wish I had taken time for more pictures of plants and people.  I hope to be more thorough at the Portland Bamboo Festival July25, 2009.  Please join us!
